A picture of what will be
The end of Revelation gives us a picture of what will. We see the cost of staying away from Jesus and rebellion against God, but we see a fuller picture of what will be provided for those who are faithful.
This picture is an encouragement not just for the first readers, but for us also. It is a picture of peace, an undoing of the brokenness that sin has caused in this world and our relationship with God. It is the reminder that even with all the problems that are present in our lives, and the sometimes chaotic world, God is leading us towards an eternity of peace and sustained life. We are called to be faithful and trust in Jesus and be assured that the times of turmoil will end but when we get to the peace that we see in Revelation it will be eternal.
“‘He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death’ or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away.””
Revelation 21:4 NIV
