Devotion for Life for May 21st, 2026

Let us pray

God of patience, to You a day is like a thousand years, and a thousand years is like a day. To us we struggle to be patient even with the simplest of things. We get anxious when things don’t go how we want them to go when we want them to go. We get frustrated when things are going too slowly for our liking.

Help us to live in the moment without putting our expectations into it and missing the beauty of this moment. Grant us the ability to be able to see beyond our own expectations and be be able to see the simple beauty that is being presented to us. Grant us the freedom to be able to work in the present and not getting held back by the past or lost in the ethereal future.

God of the moment, You gift us with each moment of teach us to appreciate each gift that is given in the moment and not belittle them or elevate them over another. Help us to receive them as a gift and give to others in the moment. May the beauty and gift of the moment be appreciated and treasured for what they are and how they enrich each of our lives.

We pray this all in Jesus’s name, Amen.
