Church News and Service Information for June 16, 2024

Dear Friends,

Happy Father’s Day!

This Sunday, known as Father’s Day, we will remember the legacies of our fathers, whether they are with us or have passed away, and express our appreciation to the Lord for their love and work during our worship service. The sermon topic, “A Greatest Legacy,” based on Deuteronomy 6, will encourage us to leave a genuine living faith for future generations. This Sunday is also designated as National Indigenous Peoples Sunday and will “pray for the National Indigenous Ministries Council and the leaders and ministers of the eight Indigenous ministries of the PCC. We pray for blessings and healing of the leaders and communities they serve across Canada.” I will also briefly share my reflection on the 149th General Assembly.

With this introduction, I warmly invite you and your loved ones to our hybrid worship service at St. Andrew’s Fenelon Falls and via Zoom. Our sacred assembly will commence at 10:00 a.m., both in-person and online live-streaming, and conclude around 11:00 a.m. The Zoom link will be active 15 minutes prior to the service. Announcement slides will be shared before the service with both the congregation in the sanctuary and those joining us on Zoom.

I have included various church events and announcements below. Please mark these dates on your calendars and pray for these items.

Pastoral Care: On behalf of the Session, my wife, Soon Hwa, and I, along with the elders, plan to conduct pastoral visits, including providing home communion, during the summer months. For St. Andrew’s Fenelon Falls: Stan Wray will continue as Representative Elder to the Lindsay/ Peterborough Presbytery and Barb Silver, will remain as Alternative for the years 2024-2025. Thank you both for your ongoing dedication to God and our church!

You need a link to the sermons particularly preached by guest speakers since they have been uploaded on YouTube as unlisted. Please let me know if you need the link information.

“Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God, the Lord is one. Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength. These commandments that I give you today are to be on your hearts” (Deuteronomy 6:4-6).

Blessings,

Caleb
