Church News and Service Information for March 29th and March 31st, 2024

Dear Friends,

Happy Easter! I warmly invite you and your loved ones to the upcoming two hybrid worship services at St. Andrew’s Fenelon Falls.

The first assembly, called the “Good Friday” service, along with a pancake breakfast, will be held at 9:30 a.m. on Friday, March 29, 2024. During the service, we will contemplate the cross while listening to relevant articles and scriptures. At the end of the reflections, we will participate in the “Driving the Nails” activity, which symbolizes joining in Jesus’ bearing of the punishment for all our sins on the cross.

As mentioned before, prior to the holy gathering above, as the host of the meal fellowship, St. Andrew’s Women of the Church will be serving a delicious pancake breakfast starting at 8:00 a.m. in the church basement. Everyone is welcome to join this divine feast as the conclusion of the Lenten season. On behalf of the church, I express our gratitude to those who will prepare this meal for us.

The second gathering, known as “Easter,” one of the biggest Christian celebrations, will take place at 10:00 a.m. on Sunday, March 31, 2024. This Easter Sunday, we will explore the Living Words of Christ: “Young Man, I Say to You, Get up?” and will also have a children’s time related to the meanings of the Resurrection of Jesus for us as His disciples.

These sacred assemblies will be accessible for both in-person and online live-streaming. The Zoom link below will be active 15 minutes prior to these service times. Announcement slides will be shared before the services with both the congregation in the sanctuary and those joining us on Zoom.

I’ve placed upcoming church news and services below:

St. Andrew’s Women of the Church will meet on Wednesday, April 3rd, at 1:30 p.m. in the Church basement. Everyone is welcome to join this fellowship.

Donations to the local Salvation Army Food Bank will be collected next Sunday, April 7th. All contributions are greatly appreciated.

Lizz Hoyle, Guest Speaker, will be sharing the Word of God with us on Sunday, April 7th, while I am with the Campbellford congregation on that Sunday.

I will be on holiday from Monday, April 15th, to Thursday, May 23rd, 2024. During that time, Rev. Ian Marnoch, Minister at Knox Presbyterian Church in Bobcaygeon, will be taking care of any pastoral emergencies. He can be reached at 705-738-4086 (Church) or by email at ian.knoxbobcaygeon@gmail.com.

“Then he went up and touched the bier they were carrying him on, and the bearers stood still. He said, ‘Young man, I say to you, get up!’ The dead man sat up and began to talk, and Jesus gave him back to his mother” (Luke 7:14-15).

Have a blessed and meaningful Holy weekend!

Blessings,

Caleb
