Church News and Service Information for July 7, 2024

Dear Friends,

This Sunday, Rani Ibrahim, a lay missionary appointed by our Presbytery for the Newcomers Ministry, and Sheryl Smith, the Convenor of its Advisory Committee, will visit us and share their God-given stories about this mission. One main objective of this specialized ministry is: “Helping newcomers in various ways to start a new life in Canada and learn more about Jesus Christ by providing spiritual and social programs” in the Peterborough area and its surroundings. Before listening to these presentations, we will reflect on one of Christ’s characteristics, mercy, and consider how we can become agents of God’s divine mercy in our faith journey. On behalf of the congregation, I express our appreciation to both Rani and Sheryl for sharing the Newcomers’ stories during the upcoming service.

With this introduction, I warmly invite you and your loved ones to our hybrid worship service at St. Andrew’s Fenelon Falls and via Zoom on Sunday, July 7, 2024. Our sacred assembly will commence at 10:00 a.m., both in-person and via live streaming, and conclude around 11:00 a.m. The Zoom link provided below will be active 15 minutes prior to the service. Announcement slides will be shared before the service with both the congregation in the sanctuary and those joining us on Zoom.

“But because of his great love for us, God, who is rich in mercy, made us alive with Christ even when we were dead in transgressions – it is by grace you have been saved. …For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do” (Ephesians 2:1-10).

Blessings,

Caleb
