Church News and Service Information for May 10th, 2026

Dear Friends in Christ,

Happy Mother’s Day Week and Weekend!

Before I share information about our Mother’s Day service, I would like to highlight the beautiful words of welcome offered to our newly elected Elders by Barb Silver, Co-Clerk of the St. Andrew’s Session, during a recent Session meeting:

“Before we proceed with the adoption of the agenda, on behalf of all of us, I would like to welcome our two new Elders, Lizz and Sherry. Thank you for agreeing to serve as an elder and offering your time and talents to the ministry and mission of St. Andrew’s Church. The congregation as a whole have recognized your faithful leadership and spiritual commitment to lead and serve as an elder, and we on Session warmly welcome your addition as we prayerfully proceed on our journey of service and faithfulness in God’s shared ministry. Again, a heartiest welcome to both of you. We all look forward to continuing God’s work together with you in the days ahead.”

I believe Barb’s remarks also reflect the wishes and prayers of our entire congregation for our new elders, Lizz Hoyle and Sherry Henderson. May God’s abundant blessings be upon both Lizz and Sherry as they begin caring for God’s church and Christ’s sheep in the sacred role of eldership under the guidance of the Holy Spirit.

An ordination service of our new Elders will be held on Sunday, September 13, 2026, during the celebration of our church’s fourth anniversary. Your continued prayers for our church leadership team, including these new Elders, would be greatly appreciated.

With this exciting news, I warmly invite you and your loved ones to join us for our hybrid service at St. Andrew’s, Fenelon Falls, on Sunday, May 10, 2026, at 10:00 A.M.

During the Mother’s Day service, we will reflect on the meaning of motherhood as we remember Moses’s mother, Jochebed, in the Bible, as well as our own mothers. Together, we will give thanks to God for His indescribable love shown through them and express gratitude to our mothers for their tireless care and devotion. We will also listen to a beautiful poem recited by Jim Black and watch a video celebrating a mother’s love and care.

We look forward to worshipping with you, whether in person or online, at this upcoming gathering of worship!

Blessings,

Caleb
