Service Info for June 25, 2023

Dear Friends,

I want to start by introducing our guest speaker for this Sunday. Rev. Jonathan Baird will lead us in our hybrid Sunday worship service on June 25, 2023, at 10:00 am at St. Andrew’s Fenelon Falls, both in-person and via Zoom. The Zoom link can be found below, and it will open at 9:45 am with the announcement slides. We hope that you and your loved ones can join us, either in-person or virtually, to worship God together through praise, prayer, and the profound words of God.”

On top of this service invitation, I have some announcements to share.

Firstly, on behalf of the Leadership Team, including the Session, I express our sincere thanks to those who took the time and made an effort to help out with our Yard Sale on Saturday, June 24. We are also grateful to those who generously shared many items for this fundraising event. Stan, the venue coordinator, can provide us with information on how successful and enjoyable the community event turned out to be. Their support in various ways is greatly appreciated.

Secondly, I have recently been appointed for St. Andrew’s Congregation in Campbellford as Interim Moderator, starting July 1, 2023. This is in addition to my current role as Interim Moderato at Ballyduff Presbyterian Church. I will preach at Ballyduff this Sunday and meet the congregation after the service. The Ballyduff people plan to celebrate their 170th anniversary in the fall and will soon form a special committee to prepare for this milestone event. Your prayer for both the Campbellford and Ballyduff congregations, as well as for me, would be greatly appreciated.

Thirdly, the Glenarm Cemetery Board will host a decoration service next Sunday, July 2, 2023, at 2:30 pm at Glenarm Cemetery. Please lift up your prayers to John Nicholson, the chair of the board, and other board members as they organize this assembly in a memorable and meaningful way.

Fourthly, the video featuring the wonderful blessing over the prepared prayer shawls, conducted by Dan last Sunday, has been posted on our church YouTube channel as unlisted: www.Youtube/**. If you and your loved ones have received a prayer shawl before, you may want to watch the video and have a prayer with him.

Fifthly, please note that an informal prayer meeting will be held on Wednesday, June 28, 2023, via Zoom only.

Again, please remember what Jesus said: “Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives; the one who seeks finds; and to the one who knocks, the door will be opened” (Matthew 7:7-8). God will make a way for us even though there seems to be no way.

Furthermore, here are some upcoming services and events for you to mark on your calendar:

Blessings,

Caleb

Service Link to April 30, 2023 & Congregational Meeting Information

Dear Friends,

I would like to start with some important reminders for this Sunday.

Firstly, during our regular worship service, we will celebrate the appointment and reaffirmation of elders. As mentioned before, Sharon Dawson has been appointed as an active elder by the St. Andrew’s Session and will be formally recognized for this eldership in the special service. The existing elders, including Sharon, will reaffirm their God-given duties and tasks, making their divine vows before the Lord and the newly amalgamated congregation known as St. Andrew’s Fenelon Falls.

Secondly, as announced for three consecutive Sundays, we will have a congregational meeting following the service. As friends and members of St. Andrew’s, you are all invited to join this gathering. The elders, under the leadership of Mark Mitchell, Clerk of the St. Andrew’s Session, have prayerfully and thoughtfully prepared this critical discussion.

Thirdly, following both the service and the congregational assembly, we will have a cup of tea/coffee with refreshments in the basement. It will be the first formal fellowship at the church since Covid-19 occurred.

You and your loved ones are more than welcome to participate in this blessed hybrid celebration for our elders, share your thoughts and insights on the essential decisions in person or via Zoom, and have loving fellowship this Sunday. Your support and prayer for this congregational gathering would be greatly appreciated.

With these reminders, I invite you and your friends to our hybrid worship service on Sunday, April 30, 2023, at 10:00 am at St. Andrew’s Fenelon Falls. This Sunday, we will continue to explore the third session of “40 Days of Love” subtitled “Loving With Your Words.” As the word “hybrid” indicates, the service will also be broadcast live via Zoom. You can find the Zoom link below, which will open at 9:45 am with the announcement slides.

Upcoming Services during Caleb’s vacation:
May 7: Mark Mitchell
May 14: Rev. Sabrina Ingram
May 21: Dan Schley
May 28: Rev. Ron Wallace
June 4: Rev. Terry Ingram

Finally, I would like to share with you the key verse for this Sunday, taken from James 3:2: “We all stumble in many ways. Anyone who is never at fault in what they say is perfect, able to keep their whole body in check.”

Blessings,

Caleb
