Church News and Service Information for September 14th, 2025

Dear Friends,

I want to begin by offering our sincere thanks to God for blessing us on our third anniversary last Sunday, as we, as a church, celebrated the union of the Glenarm and Fenelon Falls congregations. We were truly blessed with many wonderful moments, including welcoming a new member, Dale; exploring our spiritual roots through Jesus’ genealogy; learning about the history of the Glenarm Church, Community, and Cemetery through John’s special presentation and Arlene and Jim’s video clip; and enjoying fellowship with Glenarm’s‘ mini salad supper ‘after the service, along with sharing the food items in the basket for the food bank. We are also deeply grateful to all those who participated in this celebration, either in person or via Zoom, as well as for your prayers and contributions to the church in various ways over the years.

Please note that John’s talk has been posted on our church website. You can watch it by clicking on the following link: https://pccweb.ca/standrewsff/

With this in mind, I would like to invite you to our hybrid service on Sunday, September 14, 2025, at 10:00 a.m.

This Sunday, lay preacher, Dan Schley, will share the Word of God and lead us in worship. During this service, we will reflect on the message titled ‘Lost and Found’ and view a video clip from the series, ‘The Chosen’. In advance, we express our gratitude to Dan for delivering God’s Word from his heart.

I hope you’ll join us for this joyful worship service–either in person or via Zoom!

Blessings,

Caleb

Church News and Service Information for September 1st, 2025

Dear Friends,

You, your family, and your friends are warmly invited to join us for our hybrid 3rd Anniversary Service on Sunday, September 7, 2025, at 10:00 a.m.

This Sunday, St. Andrew’s will joyfully celebrate three years as an amalgamated congregation–continuing a legacy of over 85 years as a two-point pastoral charge that began in 1939. Our unity, built on an inclusive faith mindset, reflects our ongoing commitment to serve both our community and beyond as one body in Christ, uniting Knox Glenarm and St. Andrew’s Fenelon Falls.

During this sacred service, we will reflect on the spiritual roots of our church through the genealogy of Jesus Christ (Matthew 1:1-17). We will also explore our divine heritage through a special presentation titled “The History of the Glenarm Community, Cemetery, and Church” by John Nicholson, and a meaningful video clip prepared by Arlene Ten Hove and Jim Black. We extend our thanks to John, Jim, and Arlene for their thoughtful contributions, as well as to all who are participating in this anniversary celebration.

Following the service, St. Andrew’s Women of the Church will graciously serve lunch in the church basement. We deeply appreciate their preparation and support, and we warmly invite you to stay for a friendly and enjoyable time of fellowship.

We trust this sacred gathering will help us recall our godly identity, remember God’s faithful provision and protection over the years, rededicate ourselves to Christ’s Church, and reminisce about our shared journey on this special occasion.

Your prayers and participation will make this anniversary celebration even more meaningful and memorable.

On behalf of the St. Andrew’s Session, we look forward to seeing many of you–either in person or via Zoom!

Blessings,

Caleb

Church News and Service Information for August 24th, 2025

Dear Friends,

I would like to begin with an update on our church’s “Recipe Revival” article for the City of Kawartha Lakes. Over the past few months, Margaret Bewer has taken the lead in coordinating and preparing this report, highlighting Glenarm church’s treasured recipes, with the support of the St. Andrew’s Women of the Church. Last Sunday, Margaret shared with the congregation the rich stories behind beloved salads, pies, and pancakes–dishes that have been enjoyed by many of our friends both within our community and beyond.

These memorable stories serve as a beautiful reminder of our spiritual heritage and traditions as we look forward to thanking God on our upcoming anniversary Sunday. The report, along with the recipes, is attached for your interest. I will let you know once the link to these recipe stories is updated on our city’s website.
