Let us pray

God of Life, You see the tragedies that are happening all around Your world. Those suffering for debilitating illnesses, and this living through the abuses of power, those dealing with natural disasters and those trying to survive through war torn areas.  We pray for Your peace to heal lives and nations. Help us to get past ourselves with hearts filled with fear and hate, violence and greed, and help us to see past our own limited view of each other and to be able live in Your fuller view of each person. Help us to fight for the preciousness of each moment instead of fighting for fleeting power.

Gracious God, speak to us Your words of love and life so that we might truly walk with You and appreciate each person around us. Help us to hear Your words for us today through the busyness and other distractions that we are facing. Help us to order our days with life instead of just doing or being distracted, help us to love You with all our hearts, minds, bodies and souls and to love our neighbours as our selves and to love our enemies also so that we would not let fear or hate to take root in our lives.

We pray this all in the redeeming name of Jesus, Amen.
