Devotion for Life for April 17th, 2026

Let us pray

Redeeming God, You redeem the brokenness of who we are and what we have done. Too often we lose focus by allowing busyness to direct our attention instead of listening to You. Help us to learn to be still and know that You are God, not our accomplishments. Redeem our thinking and our planning. Redeem us from our self absorption and help us to trust in Your ways. Help us to be at peace with You instead of striving in our own weakness. Clear our sight from our blind ambition to be able to see what You can truly do and how we are part of Your plan for life.

Open up our hearts to the peace that You give us and want us to live in. Help us to follow You even when those around us are trying to lead us down their own path that is leading to pain and disappointment instead of the true peace our hearts are crying out for. Teach us to be still and know that You are God and we don’t have to be.

We pray this in Jesus’s name, the one who has shown us peace and life, Amen.
