We believe that all life is sacred because God created everything and everyone. Our ministry is the only Indigenous congregation in the Presbyterian Church in Canada that is situated on a Reserve. God has given us a mission to bring the good news of Jesus Christ into the world. Being Indigenous and respecting the sacred teachings of our traditional Elders and ceremonies is also part of our identities. Bringing all these together has to be part of the Church’s goal as we search for ways to reconcile with the Indigenous peoples of this land. Chief Mistawasis and Rev. John McKay were instrumental in getting this ministry started in 1876.
