Hear ye hear ye!!
We finally have a date for the 150th anniversary celebration of Mistawasis Memorial Presbyterian Church. The celebration will begin with worship at the Mistawasis Family Centre at 1pm on Sunday July 26, 2026. Followed by a parade to the church. So, decorate your car or wagon or horse in honour of those who made this ministry possible in 1876 (Chief Mistawasis and Rev. John McKay). I’m not kidding about the wagons and horses! Keith Head says he will probably wear his pow wow regalia in the parade. We will then have a tour of the church and a walk on the Chief’s Spiritual Walk through the cemetery followed by a feast at the Family Centre. Those who find the parade to the church too far to walk can ride in their vehicles. We also hope that drummers and pow wow singers will ride and sing in the wagons. We also hope that there will be a Cree singer who will sing in the worship service. I plan to wear my ribbon shirt for that day.
Egosay. All my relations.
