Service of Induction for Rev. Dr. Cheryl Gaver- February 2, 2020
At her 2019 recognition service when Rev. Cheryl became the Stated Supply Minister for the Pastoral Charge of Avonmore, Finch and Gravel Hill, the weather was atrocious and travel treacherous. This year, prayers were offered for better weather for her induction – and were answered. The weather was great. People came and stayed.
On February 2nd, the Rev. Dr. Cheryl Gaver was inducted into the pastoral charge of Avonmore, Finch and Gravel Hill. Rev. Bruce Kemp, Moderator of the Presbytery, was also Interim Moderator of the pastoral charge so was unable to preside over the meeting; Rev. Marianne Emig Carr, past Moderator of the Presbytery presided. Rev. Robert Adams delivered the charge. The Joint Choir sang a special welcome.
Refreshments and a time for fellowship followed. Thanks to all who came – and welcome to the Presbytery!

Bruce Kemp’s Retirement
Bruce Kemp is retiring at the end of the year. Normally, the Presbytery would send him off with a farewell party, as would his congregations. Well, due to the pandemic and restrictions, large gatherings are not permitted. Bruce’s congregations are wishing him well December 27th. Hopefully, we’ll be able to do something later.
