Dear Friends,
Before sharing the details of this Sunday’s service, I would like to remind you of one of the key ministries we, as a church, have been carrying out over the years: St. Andrew’s Pastoral Care. This ministry consists of three main components, in addition to pastoral visits: Prayer Shawl Ministry – coordinated by Donna Schley; Prayer Chain – managed by Barb Silver; Prayer Card – handled by Sharon Dawson. Together, these coordinators work as a team to offer spiritual care to our congregation and beyond.
Sharon has recently asked me to inform the congregation about couples celebrating their 25th wedding anniversary or more. She plans to send out anniversary cards as a way of honoring God’s recognition of faithful marriages. If you or any couples you know are celebrating a significant milestone, please reach out to Sharon so she can send a blessed anniversary card from the church.
If you are aware of someone who could benefit from a prayer shawl, please contact Donna Schley. These shawls are a way to provide God’s love and care to individuals within our church or community, especially during challenging times. Additionally, if you would like to request prayers for someone, please speak with Barb Silver. With the recipient’s or their family’s permission, Barb will ensure that a prayer request is sent out to our congregation and their friends through the prayer chain via email.
The foundation of our pastoral ministry is grounded in Christ’s teaching: “If one part suffers, every part suffers with it; if one part is honored, every part rejoices with it. Now you are the body of Christ, and each of you is a part of it” (1 Corinthians 12:26-27). When we hear good news from our members, we share in the joy together. And when some are struggling, we support them with encouragement and prayer. By practicing these divine acts together, we believe God will continue to transform our church into a more loving and inclusive faith community.
With that in mind, I warmly invite you to join us for our hybrid communion service at St. Andrew’s, Fenelon Falls, on Sunday, October 5, 2025, at 10:00 a.m.
During the service, we will reflect on God’s antidotes from Psalm 23 for transforming a stressed life into a blessed life through the Lord, our Shepherd. We will also watch the final video in the Sermon on the Mount series, titled “Jesus Explains What the Path to True Life is Like.” Additionally, we will celebrate the Lord’s Supper, remembering Christ’s death as we partake in bread (representing His body) and the cup of grape juice (symbolizing His blood). This will be an opportunity to prepare our hearts for Christ’s Second Coming with sincerity and repentance, alongside our brothers and sisters in faith.
I hope you’ll join us for this joyful worship service–whether in person or via Zoom!
Blessings,
Caleb
