Dear Friends,
I am delighted to invite you and your loved ones to the 2nd-anniversary service of the amalgamated congregation of Knox Glenarm and St. Andrew’s Fenelon Falls.
On Sunday, September 8, 2024, St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church will mark 2 years of unity as a merged church and openness as an inclusive faith community. The service will feature the Word of God preached by me, along with a time of praise and prayer. We will also present video highlights of past church events. Both former congregations celebrated 150 years of God’s love and faithfulness with their devoted members in 2013 and 2015, respectively. During those services, many photos of each congregation’s valued histories, exciting events, and joyful members were displayed via video projectors. Some of these cherished photos and video clips, along with various previously recorded hymns under the leadership of our retired organist, Jane Veale, will be featured in our anniversary service.
After the service, lunch with tea, coffee, and cake will be served in the church basement. Once again, you, your family, and your friends are warmly invited to join us for this special 2nd-anniversary gathering. I believe this sacred assembly will help us recall our spiritual heritage, remember God’s work over the years, rededicate ourselves to Christ’s Church, and reminisce about our fellowship with one another on that special Sunday. Your presence and prayers will make the event even more meaningful and memorable. On behalf of the St. Andrew’s Session, we look forward to seeing you with us.
Additionally, I invite you and your loved ones to join our hybrid worship service at St. Andrew’s Fenelon Falls and via Zoom on Sunday, August 18, 2024. We will continue our series, “Prayer Warrior,” focusing on the power of prayer through the Prophet Elijah and praying for those close to us and ourselves. The service will begin at 10:00 a.m., both in-person and via live streaming, and will conclude around 11:00 a.m.
Upcoming Church Services
August 25: Dan Schley
September 8: Second Anniversary Service
At the time of sacrifice, the prophet Elijah stepped forward and prayed: “…Answer me, Lord, answer me, so these people will know that you, Lord, are God, and that you are turning their hearts back again.” Then the fire of the Lord fell and burned up the sacrifice, the wood, the stones and the soil, and also licked up the water in the trench (1 Kings 18:36-38).
Blessings,
Caleb
