We will be acknowledging ‘Mission Awareness’ at our Sunday morning worship service. This agenda is traditionally presented by The Women of the Church, under the leadership of Lizz Hoyle. Each year we look forward to learning the new progresses The Presbyterian Church in Canada achieves. We thank ALL the people who help facilitate this in advance.

St. Andrew’s Fenelon Falls continues to uphold and keep in memory, all those who are facing illness and not able to be with us, and those that may be travelling. We think of our ‘shutin’ folk constantly and pass on all well wishes. It is also important to acknowledge those of our friends who may have property or connections in the State of Florida and area. The recent hurricanes and servere weather events have made us concern for health and safety.

Sermon September 29th, 2024

The Sermon presented this week was by Rev. Julia Kimmett, with the title, “When is it a good time to speak up?”
Julia based this message on Esther 7 and 9, selected verses.
As mentioned previously, Julia is a participant on the ‘Together We Worship’ Team, that provides weekly lectionary based messages to congregations that may be in transition or isolated.
Since these sermons are the property of ‘Together We Worship’, we will not be providing the video presentation, nor the written script.
For those churches or lay ministries needing this support, please follow the link to the ‘Together We Worship’ website. You will be pleased you did!

You are invited to join our hybrid worship service at St. Andrew’s Fenelon Falls, either in person or via Zoom, on Sunday, September 29, 2024.

This week, we will be hearing a sermon delivered by Rev. Julia Kimmett. Julia is part of the “Together We Worship” team, which provides congregations with an alternative message platform when needs arise.
We experimented with this format a few months ago and it was well received.
Julia Kimmett is the minister of a two-point charge just south of Calgary – Okotoks/DeWinton. She has worked in the church for 24 years, mostly in team ministry. She has a passion for mentoring women and encouraging people to fulfill their potential.
Julia has taken several teams on short-term mission/exposure trips to Nicaragua, Kenya, Namibia and Dominican Republic which have been some of the most rewarding experiences in her ministry. Educational travel to Turkey, Israel and India to explore the ancient roots of Christianity have opened her mind and heart to the belief that we are all connected as one human race and must learn to treasure and respect each other, valuing and celebrating our differences.

Our service will begin at 10:00 a.m., both in-person and via Zoom live-streaming, and will conclude around 11:00 a.m. The Zoom link will be active 15 minutes before the service, and announcement slides will be displayed for both the congregation in the sanctuary and those joining online.

Church News and Service Information for September 22, 2024

Dear Friends,

I would like to begin by expressing our gratitude to Dan Schley, our sole volunteer, who greeted visitors and shared our church’s divine heritage with them last Sunday during the 2024 Doors Open event. As mentioned before, St. Andrew’s Fenelon Falls has been one of the thirteen distinctive historic places participating in this event in Kawartha Lakes. We pray that God will continue to bless and preserve these unique spaces in all their glory in the days to come. We also pray that God will continue to use our sacred building to serve all those who “seek to love God and participate in an open and supportive congregation grounded in the teachings of Jesus Christ.”

In addition to this appreciation, I would be grateful if you could kindly pray for me as I embark on a time of sabbatical with my wife, Soon Hwa, guided by the Scripture in Psalm 23:1-3. The purpose of my sabbatical is to recharge my body by taking a break from regular ministerial duties, renew my spirit through more personal devotions, including Bible reading and prayer, and restore my mind by spending time in nature.

With this in mind, I invite you and your loved ones to join our hybrid worship service at St. Andrew’s Fenelon Falls, either in person or via Zoom, on Sunday, September 22, 2024. During the service, we will explore important questions-where, why, how, and who should praise God-based on Psalm 150, and we will also sing more hymns.

Our sacred gathering will begin at 10:00 a.m., both in-person and via live-streaming, and will conclude around 11:00 a.m. The Zoom link will be active 15 minutes before the service, and announcement slides will be displayed for both the congregation in the sanctuary and those joining online.

Second Anniversary Service and Church News for September 8, 2024

Dear Friends,

This is a friendly reminder about our church’s 2nd-anniversary service, celebrating the amalgamation of Knox Glenarm and St. Andrew’s Fenelon Falls.

This Sunday, St. Andrew’s will mark two years of unity as a merged congregation with an inclusive faith mindset for our community. This service will include a ministerial reflection based on the Word of God, as well as a time of praise and prayer. We will also showcase video presentations highlighting each former church’s 150th anniversary celebrations in 2013 and 2015, respectively, along with special music (2004-2021) led by Jane Veale. Following the service, lunch with tea, coffee, and cake will be served in the church basement.

You, your family, and your friends are warmly invited to join us for this sacred assembly. We believe this sacred gathering will help us recall our heritage of the Holy Spirit, remember God’s faithful provision over the years, rededicate ourselves to Christ’s Church, and reminisce about our fellowship with one another on this special Sunday. Your prayers and participation will make the event even more meaningful and memorable. On behalf of the St. Andrew’s Session, we look forward to seeing many of you soon!

As usual, our hybrid service will begin at 10:00 a.m., both in-person and via live streaming, and will conclude around 11:00 a.m. The Zoom link provided below will be active 15 minutes prior to the service, with announcement slides shown to both the congregation in the sanctuary and those joining us on Zoom.
